Welcome to my first blog, I have recently released Daydream so I thought I'd talk about that.
The overall idea I was going for when I was writing Daydream was that I wanted the listener to have nostalgic thoughts when listening. I started off by recording a guitar loop then I layered it with another guitar sorta like solo over the top. I added a small higher piano melody to compliment the guitar. I left out the bass because I couldn't get one to sound right, plus most Lofi tracks nowadays don't have bass.
I had been listening to a lot of Lofi recently and I wanted to replicate the drums that most of the Lofi tracks have. After selecting which drums I thought fit, I added a high pass filter to them to cut off most of the high end, hence why it sounds muffled.
I have been listening to a lot of Lofi Indie recently and this inspired me to write Daydream, you can check out my playlist on Spotify here, it's called Lucid Dreaming and the music I've chosen in that playlist makes me think of the good times, takes me to another realm as they say.
Once I had the track finished I wanted to give my viewers something to watch while they listen. I collaborated with Vishwa from Artistry42, she created and designed the artwork for my other tracks 'Glow' & 'Hold' and I highly recommend checking out her work on Instagram, she creates beautiful pieces of art, check her out here.
The video is set in India and Vishwa created and filmed it while she visited her family back home. It's like a little vlog, showing how diverse and beautiful India is.
